The Railway Forum is the voice for the whole of the rail industry. It is the only UK railway group that represents the majority of the industry. The Railway Forum's role is to act as the lobby group and think tank for the industry as a whole.

Chairman: Christopher Green

Non-Executive Director of Network Rail and Chairman of the Railway Forum. A career Railwayman, who was MD of Network South East and MD InterCity for British Rail. Recently Chief Executive of Virgin Trains responsible for both West Coast and Cross Country train franchises. Previously a non-executive director, Eurotunnel, Chief Executive, English Heritage and a Director of GIBB Rail.

Paul Martin

Paul Martin

Appointed Director General of the Railway Forum in November 2006, Paul's previous career has included posts as Director General of the Timber Trade Federation and Chief Executive of the Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation, working within Government at the Ministry of Defence and The Office of Water Services and with CBI Scotland.

James Abbott

James Abbott

Editor of Modern Railways. A lifelong transport journalist, he has had periods of reporting from Chicago and Brussels, as well as many years at the helm of Modern Railways.

Ms Adele Biss

Former Chairman of the British Tourist Authority and English Tourist Board and member of the British Railways Board. Non-executive Director of Eurostar. Chairman of AS Biss & Company.

Philip Cameron

Corporate Finance Manager, National Express Group. Joined the National Express Group at privatisation in 1996. Prior to this he worked for Regional Railways. Whilst with the National Express Group Philip has been responsible for the procurement of three fleets of rolling stock and heavily involved in franchise bids.

Andrew Evans

Professor Andrew Evans

Lloyd's Register Professor of Transport Risk Management, Centre for Transport Studies, Imperial College, London. Previously Professor of Transport Safety at University College, London from 1991-2004. He previously held a number of academic posts in transport economics and statistics

John Mummery

John Mummery

Spent most of his career with British Rail before leading South Wales & West Railway into the private sector as Managing Director. He now works as a consultant, specialising in operational rail safety matters.

Peter Owen

Peter Owen

Started his railway career in 1979 and was with Intercity at privatisation when he became involved with marketing at Manweb, Age Concern and South West Trains, where he was involved with Stagecoach's successful bid for the franchise renewal. Responsible for numerous Advertising and Marketing awards, Peter is now a full time Marketing Consultant.

Colin S Walton

As Chief Country Representative, Colin S. Walton is the Chairman of all the Bombardier Transportation wholly owned UK legal entities. He has been with the group since 1991. He is an electrical electronics engineer by training and started with British Rail and has worked throughout his career in the areas of maintenance, locomotive and rolling stock design.
