Entrant criteria
The awards are open to any company or organisation with rail business in the United Kingdom, including operators, infrastructure owners, manufacturing industry and service providers in both the public and private sectors.
Guidance notes for entrants
To make a successful entry please bear the following in mind:

Remember that the awards are for innovation, new ideas, doing existing things better and improving the image of the railway industry with our customers.

It is helpful to make a case for why you think your entry should win, and also give evidence of innovation and achievement.

Ideally your entry should be described withing 4 sides of A4, however additional photographs and diagrams, where appropriate, will help to illustrate your ideas.
Competition Rules

You are free to submit as many entries as you wish, however you may only submit each entry into a maximum of two categories.

Entries on (or making use of) tapes, CDs or DVDs are not acceptable.

You must complete the Entry Form and attach it to your entry. Keep a copy of the form for your records. You will receive an acknowledgement and a reference number for each entry as soon as practically possible.
- Four hard copies of your completed entry are required for judging purposes. Entries should be sent by post to: The Railway Forum, 12 Grosvenor

Short-listed entries will be announced no later than 14 May 2008.

Award winners will be announced at an Awards Reception to be held at The New Connaught Rooms, 61-65 Great Queen Street, London, WC2B 5DA.

Winners will not be announced until the Reception.
Conditions of entry
- The decision of the adjudication panel is final.
- Entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
- The judges reserve the right to move an entry from one Award category to another if they consider it to be more appropriate to that other category.
- The premature disclosure of any entry's status as a short-listed or winning nomination will render it liable to disqualification.
- Material from any entry may subsequently be published in Modern Railways and the submission of material with the entry will be taken as granting copyright to Modern Railways to do so without any reference to the nominee.
